A luxury custom golf course home on a one-of-a-kind property – this home was designed for comfort, for entertaining, and to take advantage of its unique proximity to the Muirfield Village Golf Club. There’s a lot to see in this house, and I’ve posted photos of just about everything below. Scroll down to see the front, first floor, second floor, lower level, and backyard.
The materials on this home are authentic in every way with stone walls, slate roofing, and copper downspouts and gutters.
The grand arched doors and welcoming foyer lead to the two-story family room, and spectacular floor-to-ceiling views of the golf course beyond.
The family room isn’t an isolated, formal room – it’s open to the dining room and kitchen, allowing a large group of guests to easily flow through the house, and as you can see below, to the screened porch outside.
The kitchen (below) is designed for just the owners; for small groups; and for dinner parties. The large island is surrounded by seating, and looks out to the golf course through a large bay window. A set of sliding french doors leads guests from the kitchen and family room out onto the patio.
A first floor Owner’s Suite includes a large bath with his-and-hers areas. The photos above show “her” area, and a short vestibule separating the large walk-in closet from the bath, where we placed a coffee bar and bar refrigerator – and a door leading to the screened porch – perfect for coffee on a cool morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
Tucked away from the main living areas, a paneled and coffered study is a perfect retreat, with a fireplace and TV, and views directly out to the championship tees.
Upstairs is this second living room/music room, a private gathering space for family members staying upstairs. One of the best views of the house is down into the family room from here (see below).
Also upstairs are three full bedroom suites, including the one above. And just off the living room/music room is a short hall leading to a large deck over the screened porch, perfect for watching the Memorial Tournament.
All three levels of the house are connected by this spectacular suspended spiraling stair. I love this view – you’re looking from the top floor all the way down to the lower level.
Downstairs is a scotch room with an attached wine cellar, and a large exercise room. There’s also a full bath with a steam shower, and plenty of storage space.
Outside, directly adjacent to the golf course, is a large patio on two levels; a full outdoor kitchen and bar; and a seating area around a large outdoor fireplace.
A screened porch provides shade, and when needed, screens roll down to close out the bugs with just the touch of a button.
