South High Street

An historic home in Dublin Ohio’s Historic District that had been used as a rental for many years was turned into a wonderfully cozy and quaint cottage for the owners. The original main house remained, but was completely remodeled inside. A new addition included a living room, kitchen, master bedroom suite, laundry/mudroom, and garage. Check out the “before and after” photos below.

No changes to the historic front – all the work was inside, and at the back.

The kitchen was moved to the other side of the house, and opened up to the new living room and the existing dining room.

The old laundry was just a dark closet; the new laundry is a bright, open space shared with the mudroom.

The new master suite is partly in the existing main house and partly in the new addition. All of the existing centuries-old exposed framing was kept.

Not much was done to the entry hall – just a little sprucing up!
