Moving Two Old Houses – Then Moving Them Back Again – Part 3

Framing is almost always the most exciting phase of any major home project. The house finally takes shape, and starts looking like, well, a house. These two projects took a while to come out of the ground, but now that they have, construction is really flying along!

As you may remember from earlier posts, both houses were deemed historic, and we were therefore required to keep as much original construction as possible. And while that’s a noble cause, it’s not as practical or as easy as it might seem. The builder on both projects did everything he could in that regard while still making these homes structurally sound, safe, and code-compliant. When they’re done they’ll look historic – and new – at the same time. Which is entirely appropriate, since “history” is made every day, right?
