Proposals And Agreements

The first time that we meet, we’ll be very interested in learning all we can about you and your project. We’ll ask questions about time, money, and design, listen carefully to what you have to say, and then tailor a proposal of services and fees for you.

We’ll lay out for you what we think might be the best package of services for your project as we understand it. Think of this proposal as a starting point for understanding the design process…review it carefully and ask us about anything you might want to change or that you don’t understand.

Architects offer a wide range of services, not all of which are appropriate for your project. Our typical agreement is for “Limited Service” (the normal delivery method for residential design) and includes all of the necessary and appropriate design services for your project. RTA will help you to decide which additional services, if any, may benefit you and your project.

When we’ve all agreed on the contents of the proposal, we’ll present you with a formal Agreement For Architectural Design Services. This is the legal document that forms the basis of our professional relationship; we recommend that you have your attorney review it. Many of your questions about the agreement will be addressed in the “Frequently Asked Questions” document attached to it, but we’ll be anxious to hear your specific concerns.
