The owners of this "new old house" began with an existing small home and garage on a 20 acre property. Too small and unsightly to be reused, the existing home was demolished and the garage converted to a pool house.
Just uphill from the pool house with a wide view of the countryside sits this new home, combining the best of historical precedent and detailing with the comforts and conveniences of modern living. The owners' love of historical design was a starting point for the form of the house, as was their desire for a "welcoming" home with a large amount of outdoor living space.
The open floor plan and broad front porch are signatures of the design. We think it's one of the prettiest homes in our portfolio. A new barn completes the design of the site.
